    The Miyazawa polynomial is a two-variable polynomial invariant of virtual knots and links parametrized by a map \(g:\mathbb{Z}\to\mathbb{Z}[h^{\pm 1}]\) from the integers to the ring of Laurent polynomials. In particular, the Jones polynomial can be obtained as a specialization of the Miyazawa polynomial, and the Miyazawa polynomial satisfies a skein relation defined on magnetic graphs, which are two-valent directed graphs where every vertex is a sink or a source. In this paper, the Miyazawa polynomial is used to obtain results on periodicity for virtual links. A virtual link \(L\) is periodic with period \(n\) if \(L\) can be written as the closure of a virtual tangle diagram of the form \(T^n\) for a virtual tangle \(T\), whose closure is known as the factor link. The authors show that links of period \(n\) must have Miyazawa polynomials of certain forms with respect to certain maps \(g\).
