Let \(\mathfrak a\) be an ideal of a Noetherian local ring \((A,\mathfrak m)\) and \(E\) a finitely generated \(A\)-module of positive dimension \(s\). For any positive integer \(r\), set \(G_r(\mathfrak a, E):= \bigoplus_{n\in\mathbb{Z}} \mathfrak a^nE/ \mathfrak a^{n+r}E\), where \(\mathfrak a^n=A\) for all \(n\leq 0\). Note that \(G_r(\mathfrak a, E)\) is a module over \(\bigoplus_{n\geq0} \mathfrak a^n\). Let \(\mathcal{P}\) be a property of modules. The main theme of the paper under review is that (under some conditions) \(E\) satisfies the certain property \(\mathcal{P}\) if and only if \(G_r(\mathfrak a, E)\) satisfies \(\mathcal{P}\) for all \(r\). Recall that \(E\) is Buchsbaum, if the difference \(\ell_A(E/qE)-e_q(E)\) is an invariant of \(E\), not depending on the choice of parameter ideal \(q\) of E, where \(\ell_A(-)\) and \(e_q(.)\) denote the length and the multiplicity with respect to \(q\). Recall that \(E\) is quasi Buchsbaum if \(\mathfrak m H^i_{\mathfrak m}(E)=0\) for all \(i\neq s\). The property \(\mathcal{P}\) contains Buchsbaum and quasi Buchsbaum.
