This paper gives an interesting new triangulation of the complex projective plane. It has 15 vertices, is highly symmetric with an automorphism group \(S_4\times S_3\) of order 144, and it admits a chess type colouring of the 4-dimensional simplices. It is shown that no smaller triangulation can have this last colouring property. The automorphism group can be realized as a group of isometrics in the Fubini-Study metric. The triangulation itself is explicitly given in coordinates. and it is compatible with the moment map onto a planar triangle. It can also be obtained as a quotient of 4-space by a complex crystallographic group.
