The author presents a review of his work about fixed point theorems for multivalued functions and their applications to general equilibrium problems. In the first two sections, some historical facts about fixed point problems are reviewed and some terminology is recalled. In Section~3, the author reviews results about acyclic polehydra. An acyclic version of the social equilibrium theorem of Debreu is also described; this part is based on [\textit{S.\,Park}, ``Remarks on a social equilibrium existence theorem of G.\ Debreu'', Appl.\ Math.\ Lett.\ 11, No.\,5, 51--54 (1998; Zbl 1116.91329)]. In Section~4, the author considers locally convex spaces and reviews the results of his paper [``Fixed points of acyclic maps on topological vector spaces'', in: Proceedings of the first World Congress of Nonlinear Analysis, Tampa/FL, USA, August 19--26, 1992, 2171--2177 (1996; Zbl 0863.47042)]. In Section~5, the author considers admissible convex sets and treats, among others, generalizations of the Nash equilibrium theorem and a generalization of Gwinner's extension of the Walras theorem; cf., for example, [``Acyclic versions of the von Neumann and Nash equilibrium theorems'', Comput.\ Appl.\ Math.\ 113, No.\,1--2, 83--91 (2000; Zbl 0947.47039)] and [``Fixed points and quasi-equilibrium problems'', Math.\ Comput.\ Modelling 34, No.\,7--8, 947--954 (2001; Zbl 1002.47034)]. In Section~6, results about almost convex or Klee approximable subsets are reviewed. Most of the results there are from [\textit{S.\,Park}, ``Fixed point theorems for better admissible multimaps on almost convex sets'', J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 329, No.\,1, 690--702 (2007; Zbl 1117.54051) and J.\ Nonlinear Convex Anal.\ 9, No.\,1, 45--57 (2008; Zbl 1146.47035)], which contain some generalization of the Nash theorem. Section~7 concerns general fixed point theory on abstract convex topological vector space. The main results reviewed are from [\textit{S.\,Park}, ``Fixed point theory of multimaps in abstract convex uniform spaces'', Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser.\,A, Theory Methods 71, No.\,7--8 (A), 2468--2480 (2009; Zbl 1222.47078)]. In Section~8, the author gives a description of some results (both recent and older) which are related to his work.
