Finite element approximations with multiple sets of functions and quasi- conforming elements for plate bending problems (Q1057698)

Continuing e.g. the first authors paper in J. Dalian Inst. Technol. 21, No.3, 11-19 (1982; Zbl 0523.65042), we try to establish the mathematical foundation of quasi-conforming elements suggested by Prof. Tang Limin and his colleagues for plate bending problems [see. e.g. \textit{L. Tang}, \textit{H. Lu}, \textit{W. Chen} and \textit{Y. Liu}, 2e Congr. int. G.A.M.N.I., Paris 1980, Vol. 2, 565-573 (1980; Zbl 0451.73045)]. The main object of this paper is the finite element approximation with multiple sets of functions.
