We consider radial nonlinear oscillations of a viscoelastic cylinder, enclosed in an elastic shell of thickness h, under the assumption of the volume incompressibility of the material. Obviously, in this case the radial displacement u of the points of the ring will not depend on the coordinate \(\phi\), i.e., \(u=u(r,t).\) After some simple transformations we obtain the equation of the linear oscillations of the cylinder under consideration: (*) \(\ddot x(t)+\lambda^ 2x(t)=F(t)+\epsilon \alpha x^ 3(t)+\epsilon \int^{t}_{0}R(t-\tau)[\lambda^ 2x(\tau)+\beta x^ 3(\tau)]d\tau,\) where x(t) is a function characterizing the amplitude of the oscillations; \(\epsilon >0\) is a small parameter; \(\lambda\), \(\alpha\), \(\beta\) are constants; F(t) is the exterior perturbing force. In this paper we investigate equation (*) in the case of nonresonance and resonance oscillations, when the exterior force has the form \(F(t)=a_ 1\sin \omega_ 1t+a_ 2\sin \omega_ 2t,\) \(\omega_ 1\neq \omega_ 2\).
