Morita theory in its more developed forms has proved a useful tool in module theory and algebraic K-theory. A version appropriate to Hermitian forms was proposed some years ago by \textit{A. Fröhlich} and \textit{A. M. McEvett} [J. Algebra 12, 79-104 (1969; Zbl 0256.15017)] but there developed somewhat ad hoc. A more general definition of Hermitian Morita context is given here, and is shown to encompass the techniques already in use in this area. Such a datum induces category isomorphisms of Hermitian forms, lattice isomorphisms of invariant ideals, etc. Some applications to special cases (commutative rings, division rings) are noted, and the paper concludes with some discussion of the possibility of a converse.
