The first goal of the paper is an approximate solution method for solving half-collision problems, e.g., those connected with photodissociation processes. Instead of the scattering matrix, a modified one is used as the invariant imbedding propagator of solutions of the system of differential equations. The properties of this propagator are discussed, taking account of the inhomogeneity in the system of equations. The other goal is an invariant imbedding algorithm applicable in case of two- potential problems. Both proposed algorithms are generalization of the log-derivative method. The discretization procedures, employed in the derivation of the algorithms, are described in details. They are tested for accuracy and convergence on simple one channel problems.
