We consider an elastic-plastic continuum with free rotations, and two partial yield conditions, namely shear yield and rotational yield. As a special case we discuss axially symmetric plane strain. The system of equations for plastic region has been reduced to a single differential equation. From the approximate solution we have obtained the plastic region and stress distributions.
