Let S be a semigroup with involution. A non-empty subset A of S is called a *-pseudo ideal if 1) ab\(\in A\) for all a,b\(\in A\); 2) \(a^*\in A\) for all \(a\in A\); 3) \(xx^*A\subseteq A\) for all \(x\in S\). The author studies some elementary properties of *-pseudo ideals.
