Let G be a group and (H,t) a topological group with H a subgroup of G. The authors continue their earlier investigations (undertaken jointly with M. Dooley) into the class \({\mathcal E}\) of all topological group topologies T for G such that \(t=\{U\cap H: U\in T\}.\) They show with \(T^*=\{gU: U\in t,g\in G\}\) that \(T^*\) contains each \(t\in {\mathcal E}\); and by earlier work, if H is normal then \({\mathcal E}\neq \emptyset\) iff \(T^*\in {\mathcal E}.\) Theorem 3: If T, T'\(\in {\mathcal E}\) and T and T' induce the same topology on H with \(T\subseteq T'\), then \(T=T'\). Related results concern the availability of minimal elements of \({\mathcal E}\) and, for \(t\in {\mathcal E}\), the existence of T'\(\in {\mathcal E}\) such that \(T\subseteq T'\).
