The spectra of 1-forms on simply connected compact irreducible Riemannian symmetric spaces (Q1058771)

Let G/K be a simply connected irreducible Riemannian symmetric space. The spectrum of the Laplacian on \(\Lambda^ 1(G/K)\) is essentially a problem in the representation theory of G. The author determines the multiplicities of the representations involved assuming that one of two conditions is imposed. This is closely related to work of Dzyadyk. The author considers in detail the examples \(SU(p+1)/S(U(p)\times U(q))\) and \(G_ 2/SU(2)\times SU(2)\).
