The authors consider perturbed boundary value problems in a domain \(\Omega\) of \({\mathbb{R}}^ 2\) of the form: \(\epsilon L_ 1u_{\epsilon}+L_ 0u_{\epsilon}=0;\) \(u_{\epsilon}|_{\partial \Omega}=g\) where \(L_ 1\) denotes a linear uniformly 2nd order differential operator and \(L_ 0\) a linear first order differential operator: \(L_ 0=\sum^{2}_{i=1}b_ i\partial /\partial x_ i.\) It is well known that the asymptotic behaviour of the solution \(u_{\epsilon}\) depends on the characteristics of operator \(L_ 0\), in particular on the existence of singular (turning) points. The authors consider in this article the case of a singular line, their purpose being to construct uniform approximations to the solutions of typical classes of problems in which the characteristics of \(L_ 0\) are parallel or perpendicular to the singular line.
