An extension of Blasius method is used to study a steady two-dimensional conjugate heat-transfer problem of free convection from a vertical flat plate. The thermal boundary condition considered here is a constant temperature at the outside surface of the plate. The axial conduction in the flat plate is neglected. This method permits one to establish a new correlation for the calculation of the local exchange coefficient in coupled heat transfer. For that, we use a new non-dimensional parameter similar to the Brun's number in forced convection. Comparisons with the results of another work [\textit{M. Miyamoto}, \textit{J. Sumikawa}, \textit{T. Akiyoshi} and \textit{T. Nakamura}, ibid. 23, 1545-1553 (1980)] on the same subject shows the validity of the method.
