Let \(f: X\to D\) be a proper, holomorphic map of a \({\mathbb{C}}\)-analytic manifold onto the open unit disk D. Let us assume that \(f^{-1}(t)\) are nonsingular projective algebraic manifolds (t\(\neq 0)\) and \(X_ 0:=f^{- 1}(0)\) admits only one isolated singular point, say x. Let x be an isolated singular point of some hypersurface \(Y\subset X_ 0\). The author studies some relationship between singularities which are cohomologically insignificant [in the sense of \textit{I. Dolgachev}, Compos. Math. 42, 279-313 (1981; Zbl 0466.14003)] or Dubois [first introduced by \textit{J. H. M. Steenbrink}, in Singularities, Summer Inst., Arcata/Calif. 1981, Proc. Symp. Pure Math. 40, Part 2, 513-536 (1983; Zbl 0515.14003)] and their plurigenera \(\delta_ m\) [first introduced by \textit{K. Watanabe}, Math. Ann. 250, 65-94 (1980; Zbl 0414.32005)]. His results are as follows: Theorem I: Let \(x\in X\) be an isolated hypersurface singularity of dimension \(n\geq 2\). Then \(x\in X\) is cohomologically insignificant iff it is Dubois. - Results of this type were already established by Steenbrink (loc. cit.) Theorem II. Let \(x\in X\) be a normal isolated Gorenstein singularity of dimension \(n\geq 2\). Then \(x\in X\) is Dubois iff the plurigenera \(\delta_ m(X,x)\leq 1\) for all positive \(m\in {\mathbb{Z}}\). - Some proofs are sketched.
