The object of investigations is a holonomic scleronomic system with smooth bilateral constraints and n degrees of freedom. One part of active forces can be derived from a generalised (time-dependent) potential. The author asserts and proves sufficient conditions for the global existence of solution in the future, and for the boundedness of some part of the variables. The used method is essentially \textit{R. Conti}'s comparison method with the total energy as Lyapunov-function [Boll. Unione Mat. Ital., III. Ser. 11, 510-514 (1956; Zbl 0072.304)]. The author generalises Conti's above mentioned method and results of \textit{V. I. Arnold} [Ordinary differential equation (1973; Zbl 0296.34001)], \textit{G. Galavotti} [The elements of mechanics (1983; Zbl 0512.70001)] and \textit{A. S. Oziranov} [Prikl. Mat. Mekh. 36, 396-404 (1972; Zbl 0257.34056)].
