Let (E,\(\leq)\) be a preordered set. Denote by i(d) closure operations of increasing (decreasing) cover, i.e. i(X) (d(X)) is the least up (down) subset of (E,\(\leq)\) containing X. In the present continuation of the author's earlier paper [ibid. 43, 347-363 (1984; Zbl 0546.54004)] continuous preordered syntopogenous spaces are systematically treated, i.e. spaces (E,\({\mathcal S},\leq)\) satisfying this compatibility condition of the syntopogenous structure with the preorder \(\leq:\) For every \(<\in {\mathcal S}\), there exists \(<_ 1\in {\mathcal S}\) such that \(A<B\) implies \(i(A)<_ 1i(B)\) and \(d(A)<_ 1d(B)\). This condition is a common generalization of the compatibility condition of a topology and a preorder examined by \textit{S. D. McCartan} [Pac. J. Math. 38, 523-529 (1971; Zbl 0234.54019)], \textit{H. A. Priestley} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 24, 507-530 (1972; Zbl 0323.06011)] and the compatibility condition of a uniformity and a preorder considered by \textit{L. Nachbin}, [Topology and order (1965; Zbl 0131.379)] and \textit{R. H. Redfield} [Can. J. Math. 26, 644-664 (1974; Zbl 0286.06006)].
