The author analyzes the Volterra equation \(p(t)=\int^{t}_{0}K(t- s)p(s)ds+r(t),\) \(t\geq 0\), where K(t), r(t) grow as \(\exp (\alpha t^ 3)\), \(\alpha >0\), for \(t\to \infty\). This rapid growth excludes the straightforward use of Laplace transform techniques; instead the equation is solved using a complex independent variable. An explicit example is considered in more detail.
