Certain inherent difficulties in obtaning accurate boundary element solutions to problems of elastodynamics at moderate to high frequencies are examined. Some procedures for overcoming or compensating for these difficulties are described. In addition, results demonstrating the effectiveness of these procedures are presented. Finally, the use of these procedures in solving transient problems via Fourier-transform inversion is illustrated.
