On a stability criterion for continuous slow adaptation (Q1061701)

The paper proves a criterion for exponential stability and unstability of the following linear system with periodic coefficients \[ \left[ \begin{matrix} \dot x\\ {\dot \theta}\end{matrix} \right]=\left[ \begin{matrix} A\\ -\epsilon \phi c'\end{matrix} \begin{matrix} b\phi '\\ -\epsilon \phi d\phi '\end{matrix} \right]\left[ \begin{matrix} x\\ \theta \end{matrix} \right],\quad \phi (t)=\phi (t+T). \] The applicability of this result to adaptive control is discussed.
