The author considers the free Bose gas with energy levels \(\epsilon_ 1\cdot \cdot \cdot \epsilon_ f\) \((f<\infty)\) and its perturbations by a selfadjoint operator h. For \(T\geq 1\) majorizing number operator N by \(N^{2K}\leq cT^{2n(K)}\) with some integer n(K) for each integer K, define a set of Hilbert norms \(\| \Phi \|_ s=\| T^ s\Phi \|\) on \(D=\cap^{\infty}_{k=0}Dom(T^ k).\) Let \(L^+(D)\) be the set of all linear operators A on D satisfying AD\(\subset D\) and \(A^*D\subset D\), and \(\sigma_ 1(D)\) be the set of all \(\rho \in L^+(D)\) with \(A\rho\) B nuclear for any \(A,B\in L^+(D)\). Assuming \(T^{-1}\) nuclear, the author introduces the topology \(\beta^*\) given by seminorms \(\| \rho \|_ k=\| T^ k\rho T^ k\|,\) \(k\in {\mathbb{N}}\), for \(\rho \in \sigma_ 1(X)\) and the topology \(\eta\) given by seminorms \(p_ k(B)=\sup_{| s| \leq k}\| T^ sBT^{- s}\|,\) \(k\in {\mathbb{N}}\) for B satisfying \(\| B\Phi \|_ s\leq c_ s\| \Phi \|_ s\) with suitable \(c_ s\) for each real s. The author proves the continuity of entropy S(\(\rho)\) in \(\rho\) relative to \(\beta^*\) topology of \(\rho\) (Theorem 2.2), the continuity of the grand canonical density operator \(\rho\) of the free gas on \(\{\epsilon_ i\}\) relative to the \(\eta\) topology for \(\rho\) (Theorem 3.2) and the continuity of the ground canonical density operator \(\rho\) (h) in the perturbation h relative to the topologies \(\eta\) for h and \(\beta^*\) for \(\rho\) (h) (Theorem 4.4).
