Theorem 1 gives an explicit expansion formula for the function \(\zeta_ 1(s)=\sum^{\infty}_{n=2}1/n^ s (\log n),\) valid for \(\sigma >0\) and similar to formula (3) for \(\zeta\) (s) found on p. 274 of \textit{E. Landau}'s ''Handbuch der Lehre von der Verteilung der Primzahlen'' (1909). It seems to the reviewer that Theorem 2 merely rewrites \(\psi\) (x)-x by an obscure function r(x). Moreover, the formula in the corollary to theorem 1, \[ \sum_{p\leq x}1/p=\sum_{2\leq k\leq x}1/k \log k+a+O(\exp (-c\sqrt{\log x})), \] a, c being constants, \(c>0\), can be (im-)proved at once, using partial summation and the best known estimate for \(\theta\) (x)-x.
