The paper deals with variational principles and corresponding differential inclusions (i.e., multivalued differential equations) for unilateral constraints in analytical mechanics. Euler-Lagrange and Hamiltonian inclusions are derived. In the appendix some new properties of \textit{E. H. Clarke's} generalized gradient [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 205, 247-262 (1975; Zbl 0307.26012)] are derived. An example is treated in some detail.
