The mixed problem for a strictly hyperbolic operator is considered. In the first part the mixed problem for a complex vector field is considered and the existence and smoothness of the solution are investigated. In the second part the \(C^{\infty}\)-correctness of the mixed problem for a real vector field is considered and a method is proposed how to make some in the usual meaning noncorrect problems correct.
