The linear diffusion equation in cylindrical polar coordinates is considered when all quantities depend on the axial coordinate and time. It is assumed that one of the boundaries may move and one is fixed. A nonlinear flux condition is applied on the fixed boundary. It is suggested that the problem relates to oxygen transfer in living tissue. A priori estimates are obtained and additional results are obtained for the case of zero flux on the fixed boundary.
