Experiments with a class of generalized trigonometric polynomials (Q1064772)

The paper is concerned with functions of the form \(\phi_ k(x)=p_ k(\theta)\), where p is a polynomial of degree k and \(\theta =\psi (x)\) is a continuous monotone function. If \(x=\cos \theta\), then we get the trigonometric polynomials. Here functions, which are associated to the ellipse \(x^ 2+y^ 2/E^ 2=1\), where \(E\neq 1\), are considered. Then \(\theta =arc \cot an (E \cot an \xi)\). The paper reports on many numerical experiments.
