Denote \((\Omega,{\mathcal B})\) a measurable space. Let M be a positive real number or infinity. Consider the segment \([0,M]\) and a binary operation \(\perp\) defined on [0,M]. The operation \(\perp\) is supposed to be non- decreasing in each argument, commutative, associative and has 0 as unit. Then an \(\perp\)-decomposable measure \(m: {\mathcal B}\to [0,M]\) is a mapping such that \(m(\emptyset)=0\), \(m(\Omega)=M\) and \(m(A\cup B)=m(A)\perp m(B).\) The \(\perp\)-\(\sigma\)-decomposability is defined in a natural way. Various properties of such measures are given and also special types of operation \(\perp\) are considered. Measures on fuzzy sets are introduced as integrals with respect to m. The notion of fuzziness and that one of the measure of fuzziness is introduced in a general way.
