On a non-classical boundary value problem in linear plane elasticity (Q1065592)

The author has studied a non-classical boundary value problem of linear plane elasticity. The problem for the unit circle is formulated by using complex variable methods. Then with the help of singular integral equations, Fredholm theorems have been proved. These are used to show that for every positive integer n and within every arbitrarily small neighbourhood of the unit circle there exists an epitrochoid for which the homogeneous non-classical problem has at least n linearly independent solutions.
