A zonoid in \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\) is a convex body which is the limit, in the Hausdorff topology, of convex bodies which are sums of line segments. The following is proved: The product of the volume of a zonoid K with non-empty interior in \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\), by the volume of its dual body \(K^*\) is minimal if and only if K is a parallelotope. In the case \(n=2\) this yields an answer to a problem left open by K. Mahler.
