Groups of type \(F^{a,b,-c}\) (Q1068200)

This is a report on an investigation of the groups in the title which are defined on two generators R, S subject to two relations \(R^ 2=RS^ aRS^ bRS^{-c}=1\). These groups were earlier studied by \textit{C. M. Campbell}, \textit{H. S. M. Coxeter} and \textit{E. F. Robertson} [Proc. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A 357, 423-438 (1977; Zbl 0381.20025)]. Affine and metacyclic quotients are explored and some information is obtained about kernels of such quotients.
