Let \({\mathcal S}\) be an exponential Lie algebra, \(\lambda\in {\mathcal S}^*\), \({\mathcal P}\) be a polarization for \(\lambda\). The author presents a slightly modified definition of holomorphically induced representation. He replaces \({\mathcal P}+\bar {\mathcal P}\) by \({\mathcal P}\cap \bar {\mathcal P}\) in the usual definition. The main result for the new definition is the following. Let \({\mathcal P}\) be a positive polarization which satisfies the Pukanszky condition. Then the space of holomorphically induced representations is nontrivial and this representation is irreducible and is equivalent to the representation associated to the orbit of \(\lambda\) under the Kirillov correspondence. This theorem is false for the usual definition.
