    The main theorem asserts that if player II of a certain (very general) game has a winning strategy, then he also has a winning strategy which is stationary, i.e. depends only on the opponent's preceding move. Because of its generality, this result has many consequences which include, for example, improvements on earlier results on topological games as well as answers to various questions in this area.
