Let I be a non-trivial \(\kappa\)-complete ideal over the regular uncountable cardinal \(\kappa\). The paper starts from the following infinite game between two players, One and Two. The players take turns choosing subsets of \(\kappa\) not in I. Player One starts by choosing \(A_ 0\), then Two chooses \(B_ 0\subseteq A_ 0\), then One chooses \(A_ 1\subseteq B_ 0\), and so on. Player One wins if and only if \(\{A_ n\); \(n=0,1,2,..\}\) is empty. It is well known that the ideal is precipitous if and only if Player One does not have a winning strategy in this game. In Section 1, this game is modified to obtain two related games which are determined, and for both of which the ideal I is precipitous if and only if Player Two has a winning strategy in this game. Some remarks are made about the Galvin-Hajnal norm of an ordinal function and normed ideals. This work is continued by \textit{T. J. Jech} and \textit{W. J. Mitchell} in Ann. Pure Appl. Logic 24, 131-151 (1983; Zbl 0524.03038). In Sections 2 and 3, related games are considered, which the author uses to define the notions of weakly precipitous and pseudo-precipitous ideal.
