Let X be a 3-dimensional projective variety with at most terminal singularities defined over \({\mathbb{C}}\) whose canonical divisor \(K_ X\) is numerically trivial. Then we prove the following two formulas: \((1) \chi (X,{\mathcal O}_ X)=(1/24)\sum (r-1/r);\quad (2) 0\leq \chi (X,{\mathcal O}_ X)\leq 4.\) We regard an arbitrary terminal singularity as a compositive of certain terminal quotient singularities by using a paper of \textit{S. Mori} [''On 3- dimensional terminal singularities'', Nagoya Math. J. 98, 43-66 (1985)]. In (1), the summation is taken over all these virtual terminal quotient singularities of index r. Combining (1) and (2), we prove that there exists a universal positive integer \(m_ 0\) for all the X's such that \(H^ 0(X,{\mathcal O}_ X(m_ 0K_ X))\neq 0.\)
