The author calculates explicitly the solutions of the Euler equation corresponding to the variational integral \[ I(u)=\int_{D}(a\cdot u^ 2_ r+(2b/r)\cdot u_ r\cdot u_{\theta}+(c/r^ 2)\cdot u^ 2_{\theta})\cdot r^{\mu} dx. \] Here, \(r=| x|\) and \(\theta\) are the usual polar coordinates, D is the unit disc and a, b and c are constants. The solutions u are of the form \[ u(r,\theta)=\sum^{\infty}_{-\infty}\alpha_{\nu}\cdot r^{\lambda_{\nu}}\cdot \phi_{\nu}(\theta -\gamma \cdot \ln r), \] where \(\phi_{\nu}(\theta)=\sin (\nu \cdot \theta)\), if \(\nu <0\), and \(\phi_{\nu}(\theta)=\cos (\nu \cdot \theta)\), if \(\nu\geq 0\). Thus, the author gives selfsimilar elliptic linear equations having no selfsimilar solutions. Moreover, the counterexample indicates by which terms in the equation whirls might be caused.
