One presents two methods of calculating the coefficients of the recursion formulae from the respective measure. The first method, which goes back to Chebyshev, uses only the recursion formula and the modified moments. The second one, originated by Stieltjes, combines the recursion formula with the inner product formulae for its coefficients. Some illustrative examples and a great number of references are given.
