A formal (canonical) algebra of (differential) form brackets is developed which for Hamiltonian systems is analogous to the algebra of Poisson brackets of classical mechanics on the one hand and to the algebra of commutators of quantum mechanics on the other. This formalism is expected to be useful in discussion of theories where gravity is unified with other fields. The formalism is based on the theory of group manifolds.
