Let N be a zero-symmetric right near-ring; for \(x\in N\), let \(<x>\) denote the principal ideal generated by x. Call an ideal I semi-symmetric (s-s) if \(x^ n\in I\) implies \(<x>^ n\subseteq I\), and call N semi-symmetric if \(\{\) \(0\}\) is an s-s ideal. It is shown that the prime radical of any s-s near-ring N is completely semiprime, and the nilpotent elements of N form an ideal. It follows that the nilpotent elements of any 0- commutative near-ring form an ideal - an extension of a result of the reviewer [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 4, 264-270 (1971; Zbl 0223.16020)]. The main result is that for any s-s ideal I of N, every minimal prime ideal of I is completely prime. There are several corollaries and examples.
