Let f be a complex function defined on a polydisk \(\Delta \subset {\mathbb{C}}^ n\) centered at origin. For f meromorphic on \(\Delta\) and holomorphic at the origin it is defined a sequence of rational functions \(P_{\mu}/Q_{\nu}\) satisfying some ''interpolatory'' conditions. Here \(P_{\mu}\) and \(Q_{\nu}\) are polynomials of multiple degree \(\mu\) respectively \(\nu\). If \(\nu\) is fixed and \(\mu\) \(\to \infty\) or both \(\mu\) and \(\nu\) tend to infinity in some sense, then the author proves that \(P_{\mu}/Q_{\nu}\to f\) uniformly on compact subsets of \(\Delta\), extending a theorem of Montessus de Ballore. The convergence of \(P_{\mu}/Q_{\nu}\) in the Lebesgue measure on \({\mathbb{R}}^{2n}\) is also considered.
