Search for a fixed target by a moving object (Q1070519)

The problem of search for a fixed target by a controlled object whose motion is governed by a system of ordinary differential equations or by a linear discrete system with a given probability density distribution of the initial position. Necessary conditions for optimality of the control which maximizes the probability that the object's trajectory will reach the given target set after a fixed time, are determined.
