Let M be an \((n+2)\)-dimensional manifold with Riemannian metric g. If there is a tensor F of type (1,1) in M satisfying \(F^ A_ BF^ B_ C=\delta^ A_ C\) and \(F^ A_ BF^ C_ Dg_{AC}=g_{BD}\), then M is called an almost product manifold. If in addition to the above the following \(\nabla_ CF^ A_ B=0\) also holds, then M is called an almost product and almost decomposable manifold. In this paper the following theorem is proved: Let V be a submanifold immersed in an almost product and almost decomposable manifold M. Then V is an anti-invariant submanifold of M if and only if every plane section of V is anti- invariant.
