Rational polynomial functions interpolating prescribed data on the boundary of different types of polygons are studied by G. R. Dalton [Comput Math. Appl. 11, 625-641 (1985; reviewed below)]. Some cases when the interpolants are not unique are also mentioned. The author of this paper observes that the cases of nonuniqueness arise where the boundary data have fewer than the maximum allowable multiplicities at exterior intersection points of the edges of the polygons.
