The author gives the definitions of the main concepts in fuzzy control as follows: fuzzy variables, fuzzy reasoning, compositional rules of inference, fuzzy logic. The ways to design a fuzzy controller are discussed. The author expresses the idea that, in fact, fuzzy control was the first practical application of expert systems. Many examples of fuzzy control applications are discussed including industrial applications. The problems posed at the end of this very interesting review allow to realize some future ways of studies in this area.
