Plane waves in an electrically conducting, homogeneous and isotropic unbounded thermoelastic solid rotating with a uniform angular velocity are discussed in the context of the temperature-rate-dependent electro- magneto-thermoelasticity. Assuming that the primary magnetic field is aligned with the direction of propagation, the effects of rotation of the solid on the phase speed, energy loss and the decay coefficient are studied in some detail. Results of earlier works are deduced as particular cases of the more general results obtained here.
