Recurrence formula for B-splines with respect to a class of differential operators (Q1073550)

The author discusses the normalized B-splines associated with a class of linear differential operators on a finite interval [a,b]. The set of collocation points on [a,b] admits finite multiplications of points. Corresponding to the set of points, a linear differential operator generates a series of normalized B-splines through the Green's function for the operator and the first order divided difference of the function. After the investigation of some preliminary statements, the author establishes a recurrence relation satisfied by the B-splines.
