A description of the method of determining the oil recovery and water saturation of the output for frontal displacement of oil by a carbonated water slug is given. An example of the calculation is given and dependences of the running oil recovery on the volume of the slug are obtained. It is shown that the displacement time during which an increase in oil recovery is observed and the final recovery value are in practice determined by the time of the complete emergence of the slug from the stratum. We consider the one-dimensional process of oil displacement by carbonated water from a stratum in the form of a generalized flow tube (0\(\leq x\leq L)\) with a cross-sectional area of A(x) and disregarding capillary, diffusion, and nonequilibrium effects and also the change in total volume of the phases when carbone dioxide is redistributed in the stratum between the water and the oil.
