The text consists of six chapters, chapter 1 being the description of the scope of the text, chapter 2 deals with material coordination. In chapters 3 and 4 the author considers identical products with purely stochastic demand and partly known demand respectively. Chapter 5 considers non-identical products. In chapter 6 a simple example of a plastic products factory is given to show more closely how the results obtained can be used. The author has been able to obtain interesting results. His presentation is good and the style lucid. For the purpose of illustration numerical results have been employed freely enhancing the value of the text. The text will be of great use to research workers in the field of inventories.
