It is well-known that any real simple Lie group (resp. Lie algebra) of classical type can be described as the subgroup (resp. subalgebra) of the general linear Lie group (resp. Lie algebra) of some real, complex, or quaternionic vector space, characterized by a determinant and/or a unitarity condition (resp. by a trace and/or a hermiticity condition). Moreover, it is known that a similar result holds for the real simple Lie superalgebras of the special linear and the orthosymplectic type. The authors mainly consider the latter algebras and the corresponding Lie supergroups in the quaternionic case. They discuss the transition from the quaternionic to the complex and the real description of these algebras and groups. Special attention is paid to the so-called extended Euclidean super conformal algebras in four dimensions, sl(2,N;\({\mathbb{H}})\); \(N=1,2,...\), as well as to the corresponding extended anti-\(de\)-Sitter and de-Sitter subalgebras.
