Given two sequences \(p=\{p_ n\}\), \(q=\{q_ n\}\), the generalized Nörlund summability method (N,p,q) was introduced by \textit{D. Borwein} [J. Lond. Math. Soc. 33, 352-357 (1958; Zbl 0081.280)]. This is given by the transformation \(t_ n=\frac{1}{(p*q)_ n}\sum^{n}_{k=0}p_{n- k}q_ ks_ k,\) when p*q denotes the convolution of p,q. The present paper considers the special case of this in which \(p(z)=\sum^{\infty}_{n=0}p_ nz^ n=(1-z)^{-\alpha}(\log \frac{e}{1-z})^{\beta};\quad q(z)=\sum^{\infty}_{n=0}q_ nz^ n=(1-z)^{-\gamma -1}(\log \frac{e}{1-z})^{\delta},\) where \(\alpha\), \(\beta\), \(\gamma\), \(\delta\) are real constants. This method is denoted by (C,\(\alpha\),\(\beta\),\(\gamma\),\(\delta)\). The case in which \(\gamma =\delta =0\) had been considered by \textit{A. Zygmund} [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris 179, 170-172 (1929)]. The paper considers also the summability method defined by considering the limit as \(x\to 1-\) of \(\sum^{\infty}_{n=0}q_ ns_ nz^ n/q(z)\), where \(q_ n\), q(z) are as above; this is called (D,\(\gamma\),\(\delta)\). The case of this in which \(\delta =0\) had been considered by \textit{D. Borwein} [Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 53, 318- 322 (1957; Zbl 0082.276)]. Conditions for the regularity of the (C,\(\alpha\),\(\beta\),\(\gamma\),\(\delta)\) and (D,\(\gamma\),\(\delta)\) methods are given, and some inclusion theorems connecting methods with different parameters are obtained.
