A note on automorphisms of tensor products of Banach algebras (Q1074075)

It is noted, when A, B and their tensor product \(A\otimes_{\alpha}B\) are commutative semisimple Banach algebras with identities, that an automorphism T of \(A\otimes_{\alpha}B\) is a tensor product of an automorphism of A and one of B if the adjoint \(T^*\) is a product on the product space m(A)\(\times m(B)\), where m(A) and m(B) are the spaces of the continuous homomorphisms of A and B, respectively, onto \({\mathbb{C}}\).
